Matt Tubbs

Matt Tubbs is a 40-year old football coach who is currently unattached. He has previously been associated with Bashley, Dorchester Town, Eastleigh, Gosport Borough, Havant & Waterlooville, Poole Town and Woking during his career.

Tubbs began his football career at AFC Bournemouth before moving on to non-league football with Dorchester Town. He found significant success at Salisbury City, where he played a crucial role in their ascent through the non-league ranks. Tubbs was prolific at Salisbury, notably scoring 30 goals in the 2006–07 season and earning a place in the England National Game XI. His impressive performance continued despite injuries, helping Salisbury to successive promotions and establishing himself as a key player until his departure in 2010.

Tubbs joined Crawley Town in 2010 for a club-record fee, leading them to promotion to League Two with his record-breaking goal-scoring prowess. His continued form attracted AFC Bournemouth, who signed him in January 2012. However, his time there was marked by limited success and subsequent loan spells at Rotherham United, Crawley Town, and AFC Wimbledon. Despite a challenging period, Tubbs demonstrated his goal-scoring ability at Wimbledon, ending the 2014-15 season as the top scorer in League Two. He then had brief stints at Portsmouth, Eastleigh, Forest Green Rovers, and Sutton United, contributing notably at each club.

Transitioning into coaching, Tubbs joined Gosport Borough as a player-coach and later managed Bashley and Poole Town. His managerial career began with Poole Town in September 2023, although he resigned six months later.
